3 Reasons You Can Continue to Grow as Long as You Live
The First Step in Continuous Spiritual and Personal Growth
Did you know that almost any area of your life can be positively changed through the combination of God’s power and the right practices?
I say "almost" because there are many things about you that don’t need changing. You are, after all, a hand-crafted creation of God. There’s much about you that is just as it should be.
God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave you that body, personality, and talent mix. While we may wish certain things were different, God is far wiser than us and motivated by perfect love.
That said, we know there are many areas in our lives that can experience transformation as part of God’s plan. These areas can see remarkable improvement—I've seen it time and time again in the lives of hundreds of people I know personally and have worked with.
1. The Word of God Says It
Personal and spiritual growth are major themes throughout Scripture, especially in the New Testament. Consider these passages:
Ephesians 4:15 encourages us to “grow up in all aspects in Christ.”
2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us we are being transformed into Christlikeness from one level of glory to the next by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:29 reveals that God’s plan for us is to be conformed to the image of Jesus.
If God says it, it’s true. But there are other reasons to support this as well.
2. Solid Scientific Research
Ongoing, solid research continues to show how people can make significant, lasting positive changes in their lives when they follow the right practices and principles—principles that God has set in place.
Measurable improvements in positivity have been documented in thousands of people around the world, including:
Developing new skills previously thought impossible.
Overcoming horrible experiences and living productive, successful lives, often turning negative experiences into positive ones with God’s help.
3. Personal Experience and Observation
In my own life, I’ve experienced firsthand:
Freedom from depression that once held me back.
Continuous learning of fresh insights about God, His truths, and His purposes after over 40 years of following Jesus and studying His Word.
Improved ability to help others on their spiritual journeys.
Visible growth in others, as I’ve seen firsthand how people continue to grow, no matter how long they’ve been believers in Jesus.
Ongoing improvement in my writing and communication, even after writing hundreds of articles, 10+ books, and thousands of sermons.
Effective ways to share Jesus in an increasingly secular society.
The Key to Continuous Growth: Believe You Can Change
No matter how stuck you feel, you do not have to stay there. You can grow, change, and make noticeable progress!
The first step is to believe you can grow, change, and continue to make progress. When you say an inner “yes” to God’s Words, Plans, and Power, you open the door to His ongoing work in your life.
I believe this because:
God says it in His Word.
Research confirms it through studies.
I’ve experienced it in my own life and seen it in the lives of others.
Will you take a moment and let go of past failures (we’ve all had them)? Say “yes” to the possibility of ongoing growth and transformation in your life.
I would love to support you in your "yes" or encourage you if that feels hard to believe right now.
My goal is to help busy believers experience God more deeply, grow consistently—both spiritually and personally—and confidently live out their unique purpose.
