How to Experience More Abundant Life in Jesus

HOW TO FIND YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE

How to Receive What God Has Already Given Us in Christ

Are you like me and sometimes struggle to experience the abundant life Jesus promised?
One of my biggest spiritual challenges over the years has been how to fully experience all that God says is mine in Christ.
The Scriptures are filled with incredible promises, like being blessed with every spiritual blessing, seated with Jesus in heavenly places, and created anew in the likeness of God in holiness and truth. These powerful truths are stated in places like Ephesians 1, Ephesians 2, and Ephesians 4.
But even with these promises, sometimes it feels like they’re not fully realized in my life. Jesus said, “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy; but I came that they might have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).
So how can I, and how can you, connect with Jesus and cooperate with Him so that those words can become more and more of our reality?

How to Experience More Abundant Life in Jesus

While I don’t have all the answers, I’ve become more and more convinced of these few things that I believe can help us experience the abundant life Jesus promised.

1. We Become Partakers of the Divine Nature Through Knowing Jesus and Receiving His Precious and Magnificent Promises

“His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature…” (2 Peter 1:3–4).
The promises of God, which come through a relationship with Jesus, produce the life of God in us and around us. In my study, I’ve found so many pages filled with Scripture about these promises—God makes promises so that we know what He wants us to have.

2. Some Expression of Faith is How We Receive

“Through faith and patience we inherit the promises of God” (Hebrews 6:12).
From what I understand in Scripture, some expression of faith is the most common and reliable way of turning God’s promises into reality in our lives.
We are saved by faith, we live by faith, walk by faith, receive answers to prayer, endure trials, and conquer enemies—all by faith.
Faith is the pipeline through which the promises of God flow into our lives.

3. Our Biggest Faith Battle is Time and Circumstances

Many times, I pray in faith or take faith-based action, but when it seems like nothing is changing or it’s taking too long, I begin to doubt if it will ever happen.
It’s easy to lose faith when we expect quick results and the promise isn’t realized within our time frame. This internal battle is common, and that’s why God addresses it in Romans 4:12–22.
Abraham is given as an example in this passage, and his journey provides us powerful insights on how to win the promise/faith battle. I strongly encourage you to dive deep into those verses for encouragement on how to stay strong in faith.

Quick Summary:

  • God’s promises are the key to experiencing life and the divine nature.

  • We receive these promises through faith and patience.

  • The biggest challenge we face is time and circumstances.

  • Abraham’s model in Romans 4 shows us how to win the faith battle.

My goal is to help busy believers experience God more deeply, grow consistently—both spiritually and personally—and confidently live out their unique purpose.
