You Really Can Know Your Purpose

life purpose

God doesn’t want you wandering in the dark—He is light, and He wants you to know why He put you here.

Too Many “Lost” Christians

The moment we put our faith in Jesus, we are found in the most important way. We are welcomed into God’s family, fully accepted and loved. But after that first step, many believers still struggle with an important question:

What is my purpose in God?

Far too many Christians, even those thriving in their careers, feel unsure about whether they are truly doing what God created them to do. Research consistently shows that around 80% of people either dislike or simply tolerate their jobs.

But does that sound like God’s will?

Would a loving Creator design us with unique gifts, talents, and callings—only for us to settle for work that feels meaningless?

God Has a Purpose for You

The good news is that God has specific plans for your life (2 Timothy 1:9). These plans aren’t just about surviving—they are about thriving, making an impact, and living with joy.

Two Levels of Purpose

1. God’s General Purpose for All Believers

Every Christian is called to:

✔️ Know God and make Him known
✔️ Glorify God in all we do
✔️ Love God and love people
✔️ Be faithful in our walk with Him

This is the foundation. But beyond these general principles, God has a specific purpose for each of us.

2. Your Unique, God-Given Purpose

This is where many believers feel lost. They wonder:

"Am I in the right career?"
"Is this really what I was created to do?"
"How do I know if I’m fulfilling God’s will for my life?"

God’s first words to humanity were words of purpose:

“Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and subdue it.” – Genesis 1:26–28

That means your work, your talents, and your passions matter to God. He designed His purposes for you to be:
- Meaningful and significant
- Enjoyable and fulfilling
- Impactful for His kingdom
- Helpful to others
- A source of provision

God never intended for us to just endure our work, counting down to the weekend or retirement. His plans align with His good and loving nature!

How to Find Your God-Given Purpose

If you feel uncertain about your purpose, take these steps:

  • Believe that God has a plan for you – He designed you for a reason.

  • Live out God’s general will – Be faithful, love others, and honor Him in all you do.

  • Seek clarity on your specific calling – Go through a Biblical, proven process to discover how your unique gifts fit into God’s kingdom.

You don’t have to guess your way through life. God wants you to know your purpose, so you can live it with confidence and joy.

My goal is to help busy believers experience God more deeply, grow consistently—both spiritually and personally—and confidently live out their unique purpose.
