Jesus is Everything
Why I’m Focusing More on the Greatness of Jesus
A couple of weeks ago, after Bible study and prayer, I had a clear thought jump into my mind: “Focus on the greatness of Jesus.” As an experienced Jesus follower, I knew this thought was from God, as the Holy Spirit always wants to glorify Jesus and reveal His greatness to us.
The more I dive into the greatness of Jesus, the more His blessings and peace are revealed in my life. This deeper exploration of who He is, and what He does, has already brought clarity, joy, and peace even in a world that seems to be losing its way quickly. I began with Colossians 1–3, which highlight the greatness of Jesus, our new life in Him, and how we can experience true transformation through Him.
For the next few months, I’ll be sharing insights I’ve gained on these topics. I pray these words will bring encouragement, enlightenment, and experience of Jesus' greatness. Jesus is Everything
Years ago, my youngest son invited another little boy to church. Afterward, my wife asked him what he thought of the service. He responded, “It was interesting, but why do you talk about Jesus so much? Everything was about Jesus. Why don’t you talk about other things?”
This question makes sense, but the reason we focus on Jesus is simple: everything in life is centered around Him. As the Bible says in Colossians 1:16-17, "All things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
In Acts 4:12, we learn, “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” And in 1 Corinthians 3:11, we read, “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Why Focus on Jesus?
In just a few powerful verses, we see that:
Jesus is eternal: He is "before all things."
Jesus is the Co-Creator of all things: "All things have been created through Him."
Jesus holds everything together: "In Him all things hold together."
Jesus is the reason for everything: "All things were created for Him."
These verses show us that Jesus isn’t just a teacher of truth or the guide to real life—He is the truth, the way, and the life. Everything in existence is created by, through, and for Him.
Jesus: The Foundation of Everything
Jesus is the only true foundation for life. Everything else will ultimately be shaken and destroyed (2 Peter 3). Only what is built on Jesus will stand for eternity. As we explore the greatness of Jesus, we see that He is the source, the life-blood, the Savior, and the ultimate purpose of all things.
If you are a Jesus follower, you’ve experienced a measure of His greatness and love. But there is always more in Him. I am experiencing more of His life as I go deeper into understanding His greatness. I invite you to join me as we focus on Jesus: The Way, the Truth, and the Life—and everything else that is good.
My goal is to help busy believers experience God more deeply, grow consistently—both spiritually and personally—and confidently live out their unique purpose.
