A Short but Powerful Answer to the “Why Do I Exist” Question
God Is Amazing and So Are You
You are incredible! Even on days when you don’t feel special or might feel like a failure, remember that you are truly amazing. Here are just a few facts about you:
Your brain has around 100 billion neurons, and if all the neurons were lined up, they would stretch 600 miles.
Your lungs contain over 300 million capillaries, which if laid end to end, would stretch 1500 miles.
Your eyes’ focusing muscles move around 100,000 times a day—equivalent to walking 50 miles!
Your brain can hold five times as much information as the entire Encyclopedia Britannica.
These are just a handful of the amazing facts about the physical aspects of you, but there’s so much more. You have a unique personality, talents, skills, and experiences that make you, literally, one of a kind. You are special, no matter how you feel.
The Two Answers to the Question: Why Do I Exist?
When we look at the vastness of the universe or the beauty of nature, we can’t help but wonder: Why am I here? There are two possible answers to this question:
The Atheist Perspective: Some believe we are here by accident—over billions of years, chemicals and circumstances came together to create us. However, this theory has many gaps and does not offer a satisfying explanation of where the chemicals came from or why the universe exists.
The Biblical Answer: The Bible teaches that we exist because God willed it. In Revelation 4:11, it says, "You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created." God designed us with purpose, love, and wisdom, creating us as masterpieces in His image (Genesis 1:26-28).
God Designed You on Purpose
God didn’t have to create you, but He did. He didn’t have to invest His love, wisdom, and power in creating you with your unique personality and abilities, but He chose to. The smartest Being in existence, motivated by perfect love, decided that you should be here. He created you to reflect His image and to carry out unique expressions of who He is.
You Matter to God
You are not here by accident. God, the Creator of the universe, placed you here with purpose. He decided when you would be born, where you would be, and the work He has for you to do. And even when life is hard, unfair, or painful, God has the power to turn all things for good (Romans 8:28).
You matter to God. He decided you should be here, to love you, share His life with you, and give you important work to do. Receive His love and His purposes—you are here because God willed it.
My goal is to help busy believers experience God more deeply, grow consistently—both spiritually and personally—and confidently live out their unique purpose.
